Breakfast at Franks

Submitted by on September 13, 2009 – 12:23 amOne Comment

We had such a nice time at Feliciana Harvest Church, and were surprised when the Pursifull family invited the whole group of 13 of us to join them for breakfast at Frank’s the next morning! Jacob and Kim Mills had already introduced me to Louisiana’s Frank’s experience… so I was excited to give the En-kata Choir the opportunity to gain revenge against those nasty animals that eat the Maasai (Masai)  in the Ruvu River way too often. (I realize Alligators and Crocodiles are not the same creature.. but close enough.)

Crocodiles have been eating Maasai (Masai) for long enough...

But would you believe, not a Single Maasai (Masai) took a bite of Alligator sausage?! Not even the fearless Yona.

He found himself a sneaky way to hide it in his napkin and pretended that he had eaten it.

I spent the morning with three of the sweetest little girls (ok, so Brook’s not so little but the other two are, and all three are sweet…)

Friends

Ok, so I know it’s blurry, but do you see how adorable these kids are?

We all had such a good time with our new friends. Thank you Mary and Joseph and Tova and Mary!

Stephen and Sarah

Stephen, Sarah, Jo and Mathayo entertained themselves nearly the whole meal on hiding Alligator in Mathayo’s food and watching him NOT eat it.

The server was incredible! She brought all the Maasai (Masai) special mugs half full of water, and mugs of warm milk, and they all made themselves a cup of Chai. They ate Chicken fried Steak, and loved my vegetable omelet. (But in case anyone reading this blogs gets any Maasai (Masai) hosting ideas… the omelets were a complete flop when we tried them at home… apparently only Frank can make eggs so that Maasai (Masai) will eat them!)

Thank you all so much for this incredible cultural experience! And we look forward to continuing this friendship!
