Elim Oasis, Houston, TX

In Houston, Texas we stayed at the Elim Oasis Church Youth Center. Pastor Ron Nissen and his congregation were incredibly generous and hospitable. They even had cake for Jeremy Stephenson’s birthday — three of them!

Ezekiel was the only one brave enough to try out the nursery play-equipment; the swing-set was deemed particularly hazardous. It was great to be able to stay all in one place, though mildly dangerous — a warning to you all: Jeremy Feser cannot be trusted around plastic cutlery, not when peppermint chocolate cake is involved anyway. The Elim Youth Center industrial kitchen gave us a chance to cook up some Tanzanian cuisine with we ladies only managing to almost blow ourselves up twice, an improvement on our last attempt.

The church service was wonderful with representatives from several community churches in attendance. Thanks again to all at Elim Oasis Church for making us feel so welcome.
