School Time (or, Singing for the Choir)

Submitted by on October 2, 2012 – 4:57 amNo Comment

We had the opportunity to sing at three schools while we were in Maurice. At Jonathan Reaux’s old school, North Vermillion, we sang for the choir, band and PE classes. The kids responded really well to the Maasai and several children came to the church service that evening as a result.

At Harvest Time the Maasai sang for the whole school, the children were able to interpret the bible story songs from their dance actions and we were treated to lunch afterwards.

At the Amana school the Maasai sang for the kindergarden kids and their parents. As always with this age group there was the one child in the front row with her hands over her ears, but it wasn’t long before she was bouncing in time with the music along with all the other students. A big thanks to all these schools for responding so warmly to the choir.
