There have been times in planning this tour that things worked perfectly and we had this great schedule laid out before us. But then, there’s been a few times that try as we might, dates just could not get filled. We have trusted in God to provide for this tour, and what we have found is that in just the right times, God provides a ministry opportunity that we never would have thought of on our own. Our trip to what seemed to be the absolute middle of nowhere, land of little cell phone reception Saskatchewan was one of these times.

Here, our friends, James and Lori from Merritt, had helped arrange an opportunity to visit the Kinistin Saulteaux reservation. Like our time in Merritt, the hope was to build connections between the reservation and the church, helping to open ministry doors in new ways.

Our first stop was the Nipwakawikamik School to perform for the children and invite them to come to the evening’s event.

Children are often our most captive audience.

Yona told the kids how to kill a lion.

At the end, the school presented the choir with a picture of a dreamcatcher and school tees.

Then in the evening, we joined back on the reservation to perform at the bingo hall. We had a relatively good group of adults turnout which was more than our hosts might have expected, starting the night off on a great note.

Yona continued to dance with the crowd even after the service was over.

The crowd also got Petro to have a jump-off

Thank you Kinistin Nation for welcoming us into your community!
