Road Trippin’

So we drove from Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Georgetown, Kentucky overnight.  The drive was approximately 13 hours and 18 minutes, and with 4 rest stops limited to 3 minutes each, we made it in 13.5 hours exactly. NO pictures, simply no time. Our GPS put us to arrive at our next concert a whole 20 minutes early. The next morning just as we were giving ourselves a pat on the back, we were notified of one minute forgotten detail: we crossed from the central to eastern time zone. Translation: 20 minutes early really means 30 minutes too late. Apologies to all the Georgetown College students who were expecting a traveling Maasai choir, hope you made it to the 7 pm service instead.

If I'm not sleeping I'm awake, if I'm awake I'm definitely singing!

Our car rides are filled with Maasai (Masai) song. The Maasai sound beats the radio hands down.

A few days later we reversed the drive back down to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Driving during the day was a nice change as we headed Southwest to Nashville on the Music Highway, passed into Memphis and took a turn south to bring us back through Mississippi straight down to Baton Rouge. We had time to each lunch and stretch out at a rest stop or two named after musicians such as Tina Turner and Isaac Hayes.

Sifa, Nadine and Mathayo rolling down the grassy hill, it's been a long car ride.
